CMAA Song of the Year is an award given to recognize the top song from a musical composition (live or recorded) that meets the criteria set by CMAA. This competition is open to members only with a jury composed of music professionals and CMAA members who will evaluate all submitted works based on popularity, professional quality, and originality.
Over 400 CMAA Country Music Awards have been presented since 1973 when it first started. It is Australia’s longest running Awards ceremony and the highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The Golden Guitars represent excellence in Australian country music performance, song writing and recording. The Awards are presented before a live audience each January and broadcast nationally on TV and radio.
