The 1988 Country Music Awards honored country music artists for musical performances and other career achievements during the 1988 calendar year.
No sponsor this year. The Ceremony changed from being on Sundays to being on Saturdays. It was originally called the Australasian Country Music Awards until 1993. “Golden Guitar” trophies were given to the winners. The Awards was a highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
