The CMAA Awards is a highlight of the 10-day Tamworth Country Music Festival. About 50,000 music fans come to the Festival. It is organized by the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA).
Beccy Cole and Keith Urban led the winners this year collecting two Golden Guitars each. Beccy picked up her awards remarking that she was shocked to get Female Artist. Although Keith couldn’t there to pick up his awards, he sent pre-recorded acceptance speeches. Keith’s Gold Guitar total is now 11 and Beccy is 9. More than 500 Golden Guitars have been awarded since it was first held in 1973.
