No sponsor this year. It was originally called the Australasian Country Music Awards until 1993. “Golden Guitar” trophies were given to winners. The Awards was a highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The 1992 Country Music Awards honored country music artists for musical performances and other career achievements during the 1992 calendar year.
In 1992 the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) was formed and they took over organizing the Awards.
