Gold Logie Winners is a celebration of Australia’s most popular presenters on television. This book takes a look back at the most memorable moments in the Logies history, with candid and illuminating interviews with key winners
In 1984, TV WEEK introduced the Hall Of Fame Gold Logie. This award is presented to a nationally-known individual or program for an outstanding and sustained contribution to Australian television.
Each of the free-to-air and pay TV networks, along with TV WEEK, nominate a maximum of five people or programs. An industry panel appointed for that year then votes on the nominees.
The recipient must have demonstrated a commitment to enriching and improving Australian TV.

Special Gold Logies for Providing TV’s Greatest Moment in Their Moon Telecast.
** The official beginning of the TV Week Logies was at the 1959 Awards. There was no Gold Logie until
the following year. The 1959 “TV Week Awards’ Star of the Year” is considered to be equivalent to a
Gold Logie. Graham Kennedy won it in 1959 and so we’ve listed here as a Gold Logie.
Note: in the years 1967, 1970, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 a Gold Logie was awarded for both the Most Popular Male Personality on TV and the Most Popular Female Personality on TV.
