Temperature changes in Australia are a highly contentious issue, governed mostly by the hotness, size of the country, and by sinking air of the subtropical high pressure belt. Australia is a huge country ranking at sixth position area-wise. It has mainly an arid climate and being in a southern hemisphere, Australia experiences reversed seasons when compared to North America and Europe. The classification of Australia climate is as follows: Desert, Semi-desert, and in the extreme north, there is tropical climate showing a dry and rainy season, and on southern coasts, it is more oceanic, temperate, and Mediterranean. On the other hand, non-desert areas show sudden increases in the temperature resulting from dry and hot winds from the desert and also sometimes these hot winds accompany with sand. The south-west and south-east areas in Australia have a moderately fertile soil and temperate climate. In this way, Australia always experiences variable and a variety of climates because of its large geographical size.
Australia embraces heat-related records in a large way annually: the continent encompasses a hottest extended region year-around, which shows the highest sunshine duration and hottest summer climate. Now let us how Australia exhibits rainfall temperatures and climatic changes during rainy season.
Rainfall in Australia
Same as hot and humid climatic conditions, the rainfall in Australia also exhibits varied temperatures greatly depending on the location while the interior regions of Australia experiences very less amount of rainfall.
The average and annual rainfall in 80% of Australia is less than 600mm or 24 in. Here are some places of Australia, mentioned with their average rainfall recorded experienced annually.
1) Lake Eyre: A place near inland located in Southern Australia would receive only 81 mm or 3 in of rain annually.
2) Troudaninna Bore: Troudaninna Bore is another place in southern Australia with an altitude of 46 m and 29°11′44″S 138°59′28″, which shows very less amount of average rainfall annually and from 1893 to 1936, 4.13 inches or 104.9 mm of precipitation.
3) Parts of North Queensland coast exhibits averagely over 4,000 mm or 157 in of rainfall. And the rainfall records tend to be rigorous particularly in the tropical north Queensland.
4) The annual average rainfall in the Australian deserts show very low numbers of rainfall, i.e. ranging from 82 to 250 mm I.e. three to four inches. Thunderstorms are relatively seen in this region with an average of fifteen to twenty thunderstorms annually.
5) Wet summer climatic conditions are experienced by the tropical areas of northern Australia just because of monsoon. Typically, during October to April months these areas experience showers due to humid north-westerly winds.
Here are the annual rainfall records happened throughout Australia.
1) On 3 February, 1983, the highest rainfall record was reported as 907.0 millimetres or 35.7 in in Crohumhurst.
2) At Mount Bellenden Ker, Queensland in January 1979, the highest monthly rainfall was recorded as 5,387.0 millimetres or 212.1 in.
3) The highest annual rainfall was recorded also at Mount Bellenden Ker in 2000 as 12,461.0 millimetres 490.6 in.
4) In addition, there is also a location which receives highest average annual rainfall in Babinda, Queensland, Australia, showing an annual average of 4,279.4 millimetres 168.5 in.
Record Temperatures in Australia
When compared to tropical regions of Australia, the eastern part of tropical areas experience more rainfall intensity rather than the western part of tropical area.

Australian Weather Calendar
Australia’s climatic and weather conditions always keep changing in response to a warming global climate. The day to day and year to year climatic conditions in Australia are mostly accompanied with natural climatic variability’s in the phases of the Indian Ocean Dipole in the Indian Ocean and tropical Pacific Ocean. Increase and decrease in temperatures are observed all over Australia in all the seasons including both day and night time temperature variations. Here is the Australian weather calendar that shows the temperature up and downs in every season and month wise. Have a look to get an idea on how the Australia climate changes its climatic conditions in all the seasons.
