The Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame Players list includes the greatest season players and moments, as well as inspirational players.
The Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame honours players who have shown exceptional skill at rugby league, all-time great coaches and referees, and other major contributors to the game who are Australian. It was initially established with 6 inductees in 2002 with more added each year. To date the latest members were inducted in 2007.
Hall of Fame requires that a player has been retired for five years before being considered for entry. Furthermore, the person must be a high achiever in the sport, and well respected in the community. This is in contrast to Immortals where playing ability is the only criteria.
So a player on an Immortals list may not be on the Hall of Fame list due to drug abuse, racist remarks, or other anti-social behavior that brings the sport into disrepute.
