Have a look at the song, most popular in many ways like song lyrics, tune, meaning, etc.!! Also in no way the song gained negative talk even from critics because it was written by Aussie Rolf Harris and American John Brown in 1960. The song was not only best at its lyrics and tune but also the vocal records and performances on record have also showed most incredible harmonies, warmth, and originality. The song lyrics were brilliant especially while recording the tune that perfectly expresses the celebrations that happen during the Christmas Eve.

This is the all-time favorite song to many Aussies, children, young, and elderly. Why!? What is so special about this song!? Six white boomers are incredibly interesting about this song, especially to those who doesn’t know about these white boomers, the song would be more exciting and interesting. Who are white boomers?

White Boomers are special kind of kangaroos, which are specially used by the Santa Clause during Christmas Eve instead of a traditional reindeer team. Why are they called ‘Boomers’? They are called Boomers because the sound they make using their treads as they run like a boomerang. Boomerang is used to throw stick used by aboriginals all over Australia. That is the reason, in Australian slang, a male kangaroo is referred as ‘Boomer’ or a “buck” or a “jack” whereas the female kangaroo is referred as “jill” or “flyer” or “joe”. A group of kangaroo like more than ten is referred as a “court” or “troop” or “mob”.

What are the names of six white boomers? Many people in the world are attentive in knowing the reindeer’s names but have you ever think of boomers names! Do they really have names!? Yes, to our surprise, all the six white boomers have six individual names. So, here are the six boomers who helped Santa:

1) Jackaroo

2) Curly

3) Bluey

4) Desert-Head

5) Two-Up

6) Snow

Actually, in the song the names of six white boomers are not mentioned by Rolf Harris but they are included in the album which is produced by Rolf Harris in 1960’s.

I think if you are not an Australian, then all these names sound strange and foreign to you but to an Aussie, these names are quite common and regular.

I knew that all of you are amazed to this Australian classic song and want to know more about this song and author!! Here we go…

Rolf Harris is an Australian entertainer whose life is encompassed work and by profession as a song writer, musician, comedian, actor, composer, painter, television personality and author. He is widely well-known for his incredible musical compositions. A few of the songs written and composed by Harris are later became world famous including UK, USA, Australia, etc. “Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport” is one such song aced the Top 10 Hit Songs across the world.

Our current song, Six White Boomers was written in Perth, Western Australia by Rolf Harris in 1960. Apparently, Rolf was amazed seeing people of his hometown, Perth celebrating Christmas by singing Christmas songs about Christmas in the snow while the Australian temperatures during Christmas time were reaching over thirty degrees. Then, Harris and his co-worker at TV station, decided to set out to work on writing a song that would state the difference of celebrating Christmas during summer times, where there is no snow and reindeers are only visible and available in the zoos. Though the thought was silly but the final result, Six White Boomers song has become a huge hit which gained a lot many fans over Australia.

The classic Australian Christmas song was first published as a picture book, which tells the story of the Santa who makes rounds on his sleigh as every year but not pulled by the reindeer instead he uses boomers, who are stronger than reindeers and better suited to Australian heat to pull his sleigh. Since they are strong enough to pull the sleigh in the weather with the hot temperatures, Santa is required only six of them to pull his sleigh.

In Australia, Christmas comes in the middle of a very hot summer

So when Santa Claus delivers his presents

He’s not taken around by reindeer because

They can’t stand the terrible heat

He’s taken around by six big, white, old man kangaroos

Called the six white boomers…

Here are the beautiful and amazing lyrics of the original version of the Australian classic, Six White Boomers. Have a look! Also you can find the original tune and record of this song in YouTube by clicking here: Six White Boomers.

Early on one Christmas Day, a Joey Kanga-roo,

Was far from home and lost in a great big zoo.

Mummy, where’s my mummy? They’ve taken her a-way.

We’ll help you find your mummy, son. Hop up on the sleigh.

Up beside the bag of toys little Joey hopped,

But they hadn’t gone far when Santa stopped.

Unharnessed all the reindeer and Joey wondered why,

Then he heard a far off booming in the sky.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

On his Australian run.

Pretty soon old Santa began to feel the heat,

Took his fur-lined boots off to cool his feet,

Into one popped Joey, feeling quite okay,

While those old man kangaroos kept pulling on the sleigh.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

On his Australian run.

Joey said to Santa, Santa, what about the toys?

Aren’t you giving some to these girls and boys?

They’ve got all their presents, son, we were here last night,

This trip is an extra trip, Joey’s special flight.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

On his Australian run.

Soon the sleigh was flashing past, right over Marble Bar,

Slow down there, cried Santa, it can’t be far,

Come up on my lap here, son, and have a look around.

There she is, that’s Mummy, bounding up and down.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

On his Australian run.

Well that’s the bestest Christmas treat that Joey ever had,

Curled up in mother’s pouch feeling snug and glad.

The last they saw was Santa heading northwards from the sun,

The only year the boomers worked a double run.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

Racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun.

Six white boomers, snow white boomers,

On his Australian run.
