The Logie Award Winners 2010 is a list of Australian television program Logie Awards winners and nominees. The awards are presented annually by the Australian television industry, currently as the TV Week Logie Awards, to recognise excellence in many areas of television, including acting, entertainment and news categories.
Ray Meagher has never won a Logie in his long career, but at the 2010 Logie Awards he took out top honours winning Gold. Ray is most notable for the 22 years he has starred on Home and Away. Forner Melbourne newsreader Brian Naylor was posthumously inducted in the TV Week Logie Awards’ Hall of Fame.
Bert Newton hosted the Logies this year. It marks the first time since 1993 that Bert has been the sole host. Always a crowd pleaser, he didn’t disappoint peppering the evening with the traditional topical humour he does so well.
Musical performances were by Gabriella Cilmi, k.d. Lang, John Mayer and Rogue Traders. Lang received a standing ovation for her rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic ‘Hallelujah’. The 2010 Logies was televised on the Nine Network.
