Over 400 CMAA Country Music Awards have been presented since 1973 when it first started. It is Australia's longest running Awards ceremony and the highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The Golden Guitars represent excellence in Australian country music performance, song writing and recording. The Awards are presented before a live audience each January and broadcast nationally on TV and radio.
