39th CMAA
Country Music Awards Ceremony

2011 Golden Guitar Awards

Saturday, 23 Jan 2011
Tamworth Regional Entertainment
and Convention Centre (TRECC), NSW

The 2011 Country Music Awards honored country music artists for musical performances and other career achievements during the 2011 calendar year.

The Awards were hosted by radio personality Ray Hadley and country music’s darling Beccy Cole.

Kasey Chambers was the big winner of the night picking up 4 Awards for her album Little Bird. That make it an even dozen Golden Guitars she has received over the years.

Raising Money for Flood Victims
Highlight of the evening festivities was a group performance of the Beatles’ classic song Help in support of victims of the devastating floods hitting Australia so hard this year. Recorded live at the Awards Ceremony, the song is available on iTunes with all monies raised from the downloads going to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. Singers included: Beccy Cole, Ray Hadley, Kasey Chambers, Grame Connors, Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, Luke Austen, John Williamson, Catherine Britt, Felicity Urquhart, Dianna Corcoran, Wendy Matthews, Adam Harvey, Melinda Schneider and Shane Nicholson.

Jayco was the sponsor again this year. “Golden Guitar” trophies were given to the winners. The CMAA Awards is a highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The Festival lasts for about 10 days. The Awards is organized by the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA).
