Sponsored by Commonwealth Bank of Australia this year. It was originally called the Australasian Country Music Awards until 1993. “Golden Guitar” trophies were given to the winners. The Awards was a highlight of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The 1985 Country Music Awards honored country music artists for musical performances and other career achievements during the 1985 calendar year.
