The 2009 ARIA Awards were a celebration of the best in Australian music from the past year. Held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 24 November 2009, there were plenty of surprises and upsets as well as some great performances by some of Australia’s brightest stars

The 2009 ARIA Awards featured live performances by The Temper Trap, Sarah Blasko, Kate Miller-Heidke, Lisa Mitchell, Empire of The Sun, Ladyhawke, Hilltop Hoods, Jessica Mauboy, Keith Urban and the one and only Robbie Williams.

Special guest presenters were Missy Higgins, Orianthi, Ruby Rose, Powderfinger, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Vanessa Amorosi. Today’s ARIA Awards is seen by around 2 million people on television, and approximately 2,500 recording industry guests and 5,000 members of the general public.
