This post is a calendar of Australian holiday’s, celebrations and observances. The application includes specific dates and times for Australia public holidays, significant events in Australia history, School holidays.

Dates of Australian special observances vary from those in other countries. Mother’s Day in Australia is observed on the same day as in the USA. The UK observes a different day for Mother’s Day. In Australia Father’s Day is observed on a different day to that observed in both the USA and UK.

The following Australian events are not public holidays. Please use our Public Holiday Calendars for that information. While we believe the following to be correct, please check locally for the latest info.

For example, St Patrick’s Day is 17 March, but in 2012 Sydney held their St Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday the 18th. No doubt they felt it was a better date for their family events.
